Chitwan, Jan 17(RSS):Bharda and Rupasi are among the two pairs of rhinoceros that the government is sending to the Government of Republic of China as gifts.
The pair named Bhadra (male) and Rupasi (female) were earlier sent here by the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation. They have been kept separately–Bhadra at Khoriyamuhan of CNP while Rupasi at Boma (enclosure) set up on the premises of National Trust for Nature Conservation, according to CNP chief conservation officer, Bed Kumar Nepal. They were given their names by the Ministry itself and they belong to 21-24 months.
A team from the China is arriving by June 29 to receive the gifts. Earlier, the government decided to present two pairs of rhinoceros to China. The next pair chosen for the gift is yet to be named. Preparations are going on to send them to China in the third week of July.
