Bhadrapur, Dec 21,, Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) leader Deepak Shrestha of Mechinagar, Jhapa who has been reported missing since Thursday morning is believed to be in India.
The CCTV footages provided by the Kakarvitta point captured him heading towards India on a rickshaw. District Police Office, Jhapa spokesperson Mahendra Kumar Shrestha said Bhandari who was said to have gone missing since 9:00 am Thursday was seen riding on a rickshaw at Kakarvitta point after 25 minutes.
The CCTV footage recorded him sitting with another man by his side on a rickshaw. At 9:40 am, he was captured at Panitanki of India. Upon analyzing the available footages, police believed that he might have reached India by this morning.
Police are trying to identity a person accompanying him. However, the 49-year-old has not come into contact with anyone till the filing of this report. He has left his regular mobile phone and a motorcycle at home. Police investigation is on in this connection.
