Kathmandu, Dec 26,, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara today advised media-persons to play an effective role in bringing lively parliamentary activities to the people. “Activities of the parliament, a higher place for people to use their sovereignty, are needed to be delivered to the people in an easy way, and media-persons are in need here,” he said at a programme organised to distribute certificates to newly elected office bearers of the Parliamentary Affairs Journalists’ Society here. “We expect media-persons to work for the people and the state, and eliminate the accusations that they are always in opposition.”
Chairperson of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina stressed the need for journalism to be transparent.
A 13-member working committee of the Society led by Narayan Kafle was elected on December 16.
