Beni, Jan 1,, Myagdi Overseas Nepali Association (MONA) has set up a revolving fund of Rs 10 million to work in the areas of women and children in the district.
The revolving fund has so far received a deposit of Rs 9 million, MONA International Chairperson Chakra Bahadur Thapa informed.
It is also shared around Rs 2.5 million was raised for the fund in course of MONA conference held in Darwang. Residents of Myagdi who are currently in different countries have been raising money for the purpose.
The annual assembly of the Association held in Portugal on last October-November (Kartik) had decided to put in place campaigns in different countries to raise money for the fund.
The revolving fund was set up to mobilize resources for elimination of child marriage and violence against women –the prime bottlenecks to social, economic, health, education and human development. —
