Damauli, Jan 1,, A 100-year-old suspension bridge constructed over the Seti River is to get renovation.
The bridge connecting Myagde Rural Municipality and Bhimad Municipality of Tanahun district is to be renovated on the initiative of Bhimad Municipality.
It was built in 1918 AD by excavating iron mines at Shuklagandaki Municiplaity-10 of the district.
In the current fiscal year of 2018/19, the Municipality has appropriated Rs 6 million for the maintenance of the bridge, Bhimad Ward 7 Chairperson Surya Shrestha.
He said that the bridge is a historical structure so there would be no change in its style.
Around 45-metre long suspension bridge has been on decrepit condition since long back. —
