Kolkata, Jan 31 ,, Litterateur and journalist Himanshu Chaudhary has been honoured with ‘the Comrade Bhogendra Jha Maithili Pratibaddhata Award’ for his contribution to the development of cultural, social and literary realms of Mithila.
Established by the Mithila Development Council, Kolkata in memory of Maithili expert Harish Chandra Mishra ‘Mithilendu’, the Council’s former legislator Dinesh Bajaj handed out the award amid a programme organised on Wednesday in Kolkata by the Council.
Chaudhary is associated with Rastriya Samachar Samiti. Others Shristhi Naraya Jha, Kamdev Jha and Kameshwor Jha were also awarded the same award. Likewise, Hara Narayan Raya, Ranjit Shab and Mosafir Mandal were honoured with ‘the Shrameb Award’.
