Kathmandu, Aug 17 , Experts on constitution have said no laws could be formulated in a way it curtails citizens’ rights guaranteed in the constitution.
At an interaction organsied by Federation of National Christian Nepal here Friday, they said all people in the country have rights to follow the religion as per their wish in Nepal, a secular country.
Saying there is also religious freedom in the developed countries, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi expressed the view that religious freedom should not be tampered by unnecessary restrictions to the marginalized community of the country.
Similarly, advocate Govinda Bandi said some dispute surfaced while bringing the new act related to crime and civil offense by replacing the 165-year old civil code into effect.
Federation President CB Gahatraj said the constitution has guaranteed equal rights to all citizens to follow any religion they like.
