Government decides to provide Rs 1 million to Nirmala family in relief

Kathmandu, Aug 25 ,,  The Government of Nepal has decided to provide with economic relief of Rs 1 million to the family of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur while condemning the incident of her death.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Prime Minister’s official residence deplored the incident and decided to provide with the relief amount to the family of Panta, shared Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota.
Taking the serious review of the demand for the investigation of the incident and recommendation of the all-party meet in the district, the Cabinet took the decision to prevent the protests from further escalation.
Nirmala, a ninth grader from Bhimduttanagar municipality-2, was found dead in a local sugarcane field on July 27.
Khuna declared martyr
A decision was also made to declare Sanni Khuna, 14, who died in a firing occurred while maintaining law and order during protests and clashes in Kanchanpur on August 24, as a martyr and provide with relief of Rs 1 million to his family.

Expressing deep grief over the incident, the Cabinet has condoled the bereaved family members.
The government has also wished for the speedy recovery of those hurt in the incident and decided to provide free treatment to the injured and financial aid to those doctor-certified mutilated persons among the injured.
Also, the meeting has taken the all-party meet held today under the chairmanship of Kanchanpur Chief District Officer.
Likewise, the Ministry of Home has directed the high level probe panel to investigate into the incident of August 24 as well and recommend the culprits for actions sooner than later.
The government has suspended the then Superintendent of Police Dilliraj Bista of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur and the Deputy Superintendent of Police and a concerned Police Inspector were recalled for investigation, Minister Banskota said.
Likewise, during a meeting with Home Minister Thapa and chiefs of the concerned security bodies, the PM had directed to take stern action to the guilty through speedy investigations.
