Dead bodies of Nuwakot chopper crash sent to Kathmandu

Nuwakot, Sept. 9,,   All six dead bodies of Altitude Air’s chopper crash have been sent to the capital city on Sunday. Out of seven on board the chopper, six died in the crash that took place on Saturday at Meghang Rural Municipality in Nuwakot district while the helicopter was flying to Kathmandu from Samagaun in Gorkha.

Pilot Nischal KC and five other passengers on board the chopper died in the crash. Likewise, Japanese national Hiromi Komatsu bearing the passport number of TK 713612068, Dilli Bahadur Gurung, 40, of Ramechhap, Hira Sherpa, 27, of Dolakha, Lho Aani Dolma Diki of Chumunbri Rural Municipality-2 in Gorkha, Chhowang Nurwu of Samdo of Chumunbri Rural Municipality-1 and Sunil Tamang, 22, of Sindhupalchowk also lost their lives in the crash.

Lho Ani Dolma Diki, the lone survivor of the crash, was rescued and sent to the capital city for medical treatment while the search for the others was initiated afterwards. The rescue operations had to witness difficulties as the incident site was very remote, Chief of Nuwakot Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said. He said the police personnel were deployed the entire night to bring the corpses from the site, which was some three hours of walking distance from the road ways.
