Kathmandu, Sept 26 ,, Communist Party of Nepal Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today said both the government and the party were at work to deliver more effectively as per the aspirations of the people.
“We have reached an environment for a political stability after years of hard work and struggles. The people have more expectation (of fast delivery and concrete results from a stable and powerful government). We (the government and party) are working to transform government’s activities into result by reflecting on where main problems of the people lie,” said the former Prime Minister at the 15th anniversary of the Nepal Tourist Vehicle Association here.
He also stressed the need for all to come together to pursue economic prosperity by amending the related laws and acts, while calling for the government to manage special subsidies and policy motivation to make tourist entrepreneur service manageable and effective. He referred to tourism as the base for achieving country’s prosperity and civilization.
Also speaking at the programme, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari pledged to give a special priority to the quality of tourist transport services remaining as one of the important aspects of tourism. According to him, tourism infrastructure development projects have been expedited to meet the government target of welcoming some five million tourists to home from the commencement of Nepal Visit Year commencing from coming 2020 as announced by the government till its end in 2030.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce chair Rajeshkaji Shrestha and Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (T AAN) chair Nawaraj Dahal said better management of roads and road safety were essential for the conveniences of tourists.
Association chair Ram Sharan Karki drew the government attention towards operating the tourism transport sector having a huge investment systematically right from the policy-level.
On the occasion, tourism entrepreneur Manoj Shrestha and National Tourism Journalists’ Association chair Shiba Adhikari were honoured in recognition of their contribution to the area of tourism. –
