Kathmandu, July 26 (RSS): The Belgium government has promised support to Nepal.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, who is presently on the visit to Belgium held a bilateral meeting with Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium at latter’s office Thursday.
On the occasion, the Belgian Minister assured Minister Gyawali of continued Belgian support to Nepal both bilaterally and through the EU frameworks, the Nepali Embassy in Brussels, Belgium said. Belgium is the member of the European Union. The two ministers discussed all aspects of Nepal-Belgium relations.
They expressed happiness over the establishment of Nepal-Belgium Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the two foreign ministers and stressed the need to make this Mechanism an effective instrument for strengthening the bilateral relations.
The ministers also deliberated on further promoting cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people contacts, among others. Discussion also focused on enhancing cooperation and collaborative partnership at the forums such as the United Nations.
Minister Gyawali acknowledged Belgium’s support and cooperation extended to the cause of the least developed countries including through the multilateral frameworks. While sharing the priorities of the Government of Nepal, Minister Gyawali emphasized the need to enhance economic engagements between the two countries.
