Chief Minister unveils Ghorahi sub-metropolis profile

Ghorahi, March 15 ,,  A profile encompassing the details of Ghorahi sub-metropolis was unveiled amidst a programme here on Thursday.
Chief Minster of the State-5, Shanker Pokharel made public the sub-metropolis profile.
“The profile would play substantial role in the formulation and execution of development plans”, Pokharel said.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to design and deliver big projects rather than small ones in a way to fully unleash high potentials of Dang.
He further said preparation is being made to carry out study on embankment of Katuwa rivulet to supply drinking water to Ghorahi denizens.
“People’s participation to development projects is a must; only government could not deliver things”, he said, urging the people to extend cooperation to the development plans and projects.
Also speaking on the occasion, Ghorahi municipality Mayor Narulal Chaudhary said the profile was prepared dividing it into 10 chapters giving proper attention to the changed landscape of the sub-metropolis.
It took a year to prepare the 288-page long profile. The profile incorporates demographic situation, household’s status, professional details of households, house construction process, economic status of city dwellers, sources of income, status of employment, industry and enterprises and agriculture status, among others.
Also included in the profile are status of agriculture road, bridges, social sectors, women, children, schools, sanitation status, community forests, religion and private sector.
The profile was prepared with coordination support from The Asia Foundation and Committed Nepal, said the Ghorahi sub-metropolitan sources. —
