Kathmandu, Jan 16 ,, The Special Court on Wednesday has issued an order to release ex-Minister and Kalika Construction Company Chief Bikram Pandey on a bail amount of Rs 40 million.
A divisional bench of Special Court Chairperson Baburam Regmi and justices Chandiraj Dhakal and Narayan Prasad Pokharel issued the order to release Pandey on bail.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on 7 December 2018 had registered a corruption case against 21 persons including Pandey at the Special Court. The graft case was filed against Pandey and others for carrying out sub-standard works in the Sikta Irrigation Project.
The anti-graft body registered the case against Pandey on charge of doling out Rs 2.137 billion, demanding penalty of same amount of money and two years of jail term.
