Gorkha, Dec 24,, A forest based in Chumanubri rural municipality-1 in Gorkha has caught a huge fire since the wee hours today.
According to District Police Office, Gorkha’s Superintendent of Police Bhola Rawal, the fire started in the jungle near the way towards the Manaslu Base Camp at Samagaun is yet to come under the control. The fire most probably started at 1 am. Until filing of this report, the Nepal Police and locals had been making efforts to put out the fire.
According to ward chair Bir Bahadur Lama, the fire might have started from a burning cigarette thrown by a tourist guide heading towards the Manaslu Base Camp. Further details are awaited, the DPO Gorkha said.
