Kathmandu, Dec 15,, Kathmandu Kings XI thrashed Bhairahawa Gladiators by seven wickets in the third edition of Everest Premier League (EPL) at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, the Bhairahawa made 149 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Chasing the 150 runs target, the Kathmandu achieved it for three wickets in 19.1 overs. Amit Shrestha hit 51 runs, while Kevin O’Bryan 33 runs not out. Likewise, Captain Rohan Mustafa made 36 runs and Sagar Pun 13. For the Kathmandu, Jitendra Singh Mukhiya claimed two wickets, and Pradip Sahu and O’Bryan one each.
For the Bhairahawa, batsman Rabi Indar Singh made the highest 86 runs. Likewise, Captain Sharad Bheshwakar contributed 39 and Ryan ten Doeschate 12. Bheshwakar and Bhuvan Karki took one wicket each.
With this win, the Kathmandu got six points. Both the Kathmandu and the Bhairahawa will play off for the title. —
