Lawmakers draw govt’s attention on contemporary issues

Kathmandu, Jan 1,, Lawmakers have drawn the government’s attention on various contemporary issues in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
Taking a special time in the meeting, lawmaker Dr Amaresh Kumar Singh, blamed that the government was not found following the Public Procurement Act and Regulations while purchasing two wide-body aircraft for the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
He also demanded to carry out investigation by forming a Parliamentary Committee as the evidence was found that company signed for the purchase of wide-body aircraft was registered after one month of the agreement.
Saying employees should go where the government deputed them, lawmaker Pampha Bhusal demanded to amend the provision made hampering the capacity of development.
Similarly, Bimal Prasad Shreevastav said that development construction activities could not be carried out by keeping local-level employees aside while Metmani Chaudhary drew government’s attention over the problems surfaced in Rapti Academy of Health Sciences.
Likewise, Umesh Shrestha said that the National Education Commission has neglected the private schools and education quality has decreased as the government has investment less in education and as there was shortage of 60,000 teachers in government schools.
Putting forth the view Bimala BK urged the government to formulate a new tea policy that is beneficial to the tea farmers while Gajendra Mahat complained that the journalists were reporting on the parliamentary proceedings based only on the handouts provided by the Parliament Secretariat employees.
