kathmandu, Oct 3,, Nepal played in the ICC World T20 Asia Qualifier ‘B’ in style with a wide-margin eight wicket win over Myanmar in the first match.
Chasing a meager 30 runs target set by Myanmar, Nepal achieved it for two wickets in just three overs.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Myanmar was dismissed for just 29 in 10 overs. Myanmar’s Capitan Lin Aung hit the highest 16 runs. Five other batsmen were dismissed for nil. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took the highest four wickets, while Lalit Rajbamshi three.
This is Nepal’s second victory over Myanmar. In the ACC Trophy in 2006, Nepal won against Myanmar by 10 wickets.
A total of seven countries including Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Thailand are participating in the Qualifier underway in Malaysia. The top three winners will qualify for the second rounds
