Kathmandu, Sept 19 The government has launched ‘Nepal Trade Information Portal’ (NTIP) with an objective of facilitating the export promotion. The portal incorporates all information related to export-import. The NTIP is a key tool to present information that will assist traders as they seek to do business — providing a key source for all relevant guidance. Whether identifying the rules and regulations related to the import or export of a certain commodity, or guidance and procedures for securing the required licences or permits, the trade portal provides a simple means to get the information needed. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Matrika Yadav, launched the portal at a programme organised at the Ministry today. Real data could be viewed at a time in real time as well as corruption and irregularities could be reduced once the NTIP comes into operation. The businessmen related to import and export business could get all information from one place in NTIP. The NTIP has incorporated details about laws and process related to import and export, possible markets, productions being exported and government bodies related to import and export. Similarly, trade agreements signed with different countries have also been incorporated in NTIP. On the occasion, Minister Yadav said that the government has launched NTIP with an objective of facilitating import-export business and urged the entrepreneurs to maximum utilize it. Saying it would help in promotion of good governance through the use of technology, he said the government was ready to facilitate in export promotion. Similarly, Commerce Secretary Baikuntha Aryal and General Secretary of the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries, Dambar Prasad Regmi said that the NTIP would help entrepreneurs to search market and help in trade promotion. Likewise, Executive Director of Trade and Export Promotion Centre, Sharad Bikram Rana, said that the NTIP would be made further user-friendly.
