Senior artist, folk singer and music composer Prachanda Bahadur Budhathoki Magar passed away on Sunday evening. He was 83.

He had been suffering from pneumonia and jaundice for sometimes and died in course of treatment at the Bhairahawa Medical College, said the family sources. Magar is founding member of the Janasanskritik Mahasangh Nepal (a cultural association) and was a fighter of the Communist movement at home.

According his son-in-law Sher Bahadur Acharya, he will be cremated at the Trivenighat today. He is survived by his two spouses, six daughters and four sons.
Noted figure in the Nepali art and literature, he has his significant contribution to the promotion of the respective field. He has over a dozen songs and poems to his credit.
