Kathmandu, Oct 10 : The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested three fraudsters who were fleecing people promising them lucrative jobs in Russia.
The team of police, acting on the tipoff provided by the victims, today arrested Raju Tamang of Nuwakot, Gyan Govinda Baidya of Lalitpur and Jagat Bahadur Shrestha of Sindhupalchowk.
They were found to have extracted Rs 100,000 to Rs 200,000 per person from the aspirants seeking to work in the Organic Agriculture Farm in Russia as lured by the trio.
They were found to be making false promises to help the aspirants secure attractive jobs in Russia with a salary ranging above USD 1,000 a month.
According to the complaints against the trio, they had collected more than Rs 4.5 million from the aspirants, the CIB stated.
Around 40 people were found to have fallen prey to the trio. Case has been lodged against them at the District Court in Kathmandu and further investigation into the case was ongoing.
