Tourism to boost economy: DPM Yadav

Kathmandu, Sept 21 ,,  Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav has said tourism can be promoted with the conservation of heritages and diversity along with development of physical infrastructures.

Releasing a tourism business directory at a programme organized by Gantabya Nepal Group here Friday, DPM Yadav said tourism is a strong base of nation’s economy, so available resources for it needs to be utilized.

In a different note, he said national consensus was imperative on the issues of economic development and security, and the international relations.

RSS Executive Editor Lohani Honoured

At the programme, RSS executive editor Bikash Lohani, editor at Nepal Television, Raju Silwal, sub editor Sharad Raj Subedi, journalists at Rajdhani daily, Madhu Jung Pande, at Megha Television, Kalpana Maharjan, were honoured at the programme for their contribution to tourism through journalism.

Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Rajan Thapa and Tourist Vehicle Excellent Award to Ram Hari Sharma.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC expressed the view that the government having two-third majority should take the country towards prosperity.
