Damak, Oct 26 ,, An X-ray machine procured by a Primary Health Post at Gaurigunj in Jhapa district remains unused for nearly nine years in lack of a skilled technician to operate the machine.
The patients have been facing issues in lack of X-ray facilities. As a result, they are compelled to travel 23 kilometres farther away from the Primary Health Post to avail the service.
The X-ray machine was stationed in the Primary Health Post at the cost of Rs 200,000 released by then Khajurgachhi VDC in 2066 BS in a bid to upgrade the Primary Healthcare Centre lying in a remote part of the district.
Health Post In-charge Dr Bidya Pokharel shared that in lack of radiographer, the X-ray machine has been lying unused. She viewed that a vacancy could be announced for the radiologist to operate the machine.
